Amplifier Reveal New Video for ‘Planet of Insects’ – Watch Now

Sunday, 06 November 2011 Written by Rob Sleigh

Manchester-based alternative rock band Amplifier have released a new video for their track ‘Planet of Insects’ ahead of next month’s UK tour. The song is taken from the band’s recently-released third album ‘The Octopus’, which came out earlier this year. See below to watch the new video and for Amplifier tour dates and tickets.

Amplifier were formed in Manchester in 1999 and released their eponymous debut album in 2004. Their latest album ‘The Octopus’ was released in January of this year and consists of 16 tracks across two CDs. The album received a number of praising reviews upon its release.

Speaking about 'The Octopus', Amplifier frontman Sel Balamir said: “A record company would have insisted we release it as two separate albums. We talked about doing that ourselves, because we’d probably make twice as much money, but to us the aesthetic way it’s received is more important. Putting it out like this is a statement.”

Amplifier have previously toured with the likes of Deftones, Opeth and Porcupine Tree. Former Oceansize guitarist Steve Durose recently joined Amplifier as a touring member of the band.
