Soul Singer Nneka Unveils Video to New Track ‘Stay’ – Watch Now

Nigerian-German singer-songwriter Nneka has released a video to her track ‘Stay’, which is the latest to be taken from her new album ‘Soul is Heavy’. The album is her third to date and follows 2008’s ‘No Longer at Ease’. Nneka it currently partway through a European tour, which stops at London’s Dingwalls later this month – see below for date and tickets.

‘Soul is Heavy’ fuses a number of musical styles including soul, hip-hop, reggae and African-pop and features vocal contributions from Ms Dynamite and Black Thought of The Roots. The new video for album track ‘Stay’ can be watched below.

Nneka was born in Nigeria in 1980 to a Nigerian father and a German mother. After moving to Hamburg at the age of 18, she began to pursue a singing career while studying for a degree in anthropology. In 2005, she released her debut album ‘Victim of Truth’, which received a great deal of critical acclaim. One of Nneka’s previous singles ‘Heartbeat’ – taken from her second album ‘No Longer at Ease’ – entered the Top 20 of the UK Singles Chart in 2009. Nneka was recently invited to join Nas and Damian Marley as support on the duo’s Distant Relatives Tour.
