Little Boots Releases New 'Shake' Single

Electro-pop singer-songwriter Little Boots, a.k.a Victoria Hesketh, released her new single ‘Shake’ on 14th November.

‘Shake’ is the first track from her eponymous forthcoming second album, which is released next year. Boots arrived in 2009 as one of the most talked about breakthrough popstars in the world, erupting from the pulsing depths of club-land with the electro-pop classic 'Stuck On Repeat', going onto achieve big international success with world tours and her debut Top 5 album ‘Hands’. She remains one of the UK's most important crossover dance-pop artists.

‘Shake’ is a monstrous modern disco epic. As powerful as it is enigmatic, the parade of pounding kick drums and swirling analogue synth tension turbo charged her return with an uncompromising energy. It's tightly woven with those unmistakable hook-lines and bewitching melodies that first catapulted Victoria Hesketh into the spotlight, reminding us exactly what we've been missing. The track was constructed in just one afternoon after a spontaneous liaison with super-producer James Ford.

“The song came in the latter stages of writing the new album,” Boots explained. “James and I had been emailing, and unusually both had a free day. It was one of those that just came out. Immediately it felt right. It also shed a new light on a lot of the other songs I'd been working on for the album.”

With no need for fanfare, 'Shake' is released on limited edition collector’s vinyl and digital download, a grassroots return for a true DIY superstar. True to form, it has been remixed by some of Boots' favourite dance dons-of-the-moment, Azari & III and Crazy P.

To commemorate the release, Booty, who’s also an acclaimed disc-spinner, is about to embark on worldwide DJ tour, taking on destinations including New York, LA, San Francisco, Paris, Berlin, Tokyo and Beijing, before a huge ribbon-cutting warehouse blow-out in London.

You can catch her in London on the 3rd of December – she’ll be performing at a secret warehouse venue which is still TBA.
