US indie-pop trio Tennis have announced that their second album ‘Young and Old’ is to be produced by The Black Keys drummer Patrick Carney. The new album, which is due for release on 14th February 2012, is the follow-up to the band’s debut ‘Cape Dory’. ‘Young and Old’ will be preceded by the single ‘Origins’, which can be heard below.
Tennis from Denver, Colorado are made up of founding members Patrick Riley and Alaina Moore, who are married, and drummer James Barone. ‘Cape Dory’ originally came about as a result of Patrick and Alaina’s travels on their boat of the same name. After the band had completed touring the first album, they headed to Nashville, Tennessee to work with Carney on the second. Riley describes it as “Stevie Nicks going through a Motown phase.”
Speaking about ‘Young and Old’, The Black Keys’ Patrick Carney said: “I am really proud to say I worked on the new Tennis album. I think they are a really talented band, and it's exciting to work with a band who is trying to move forward. Patrick, Alaina and James have great ideas -- everything really comes together on this record.”
The Black Keys’ seventh album ‘El Camino’, the follow-up to last year’s Top 10 release ‘Brothers’, is due out on 5th December 2011. The duo will be touring the UK in February. Click Here to Compare & Buy The Black Keys Tickets at Stereoboard.com
