Westlife Unveil New Song 'Beautiful World' & Details Of Personalised Fan CD Offer

Legendary Irish boyband Westlife have unveiled new track 'Beautiful World', taken from their Greatest Hits album out on November 21st.

The new song is co-written by band member Mark Feehily, John Shanks and Ruth-Ann Cunnigham and further new songs on the album include 'Wide Open', 'Last Mile Of The Way' and their new single 'Lighthouse', which is out now and co-written by Take That man Gary Barlow.

In addition to news of the new track, in a ground-breaking partnership, Westlife has teamed up with the world’s first personalised CD company, ‘MixPixie’, to allow fans to create their own unique, personalised versions of the band’s 'Greatest Hits' album.

Available for pre-order now, fans buying the album from the Westlife website will be able to personalise the artwork with their name on the front cover of the packaging thereby creating their own unique version of the album. The stylishly packaged CDs will also be chart-eligible.

Buffie du Pon, Co-Founder & Managing Director of MixPixie had this to say about the new campaign: “MixPixie has been in the pipeline for a few years and we can’t wait to tell you all about it properly in January!  We decided however, to offer RCA this exclusive partnership in advance of our official launch, as their grasp of the MixPixie concept alongside a detailed understanding of the Westlife fans, made it the perfect match. For a Westlife fan to be able to have their name on the front-cover of the Westlife Greatest Hits album is a pretty compelling offer.”

MixPixie is set to launch in January 2012 and will offer the world’s first solution to personalised CDs.  The website will contain over 500 different album sleeve templates and over 8 million tracks for users to choose from. The CDs are then manufactured and delivered directly to the customer within 48 hours of the order being placed. The personalised artwork and tracks can also be downloaded as bundles.

MixPixie has licensing agreements in place with major labels Sony, Universal and EMI as well as the majority of UK indie labels.

Westlife recently announced a second huge celebratory show at Dublin's Croke Park for June 22nd.

Westlife Tickets for their initial Croke Park date went on sale last Friday morning, November 11th, and had completely sold out just five minutes later. The band have now announced a second date at Croke Park, with tickets going on sale on Friday November 18th.

Speaking about their careers, the band said: “It’s almost hard to believe that we’ve been doing this for as long as we have. We’re incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved and are looking forward to releasing our Greatest Hits as a special thank you to our fans who have supported us throughout our career.”
