Charlene Soraia To Release Debut Album This Monday

London-based singer-songwriter Charlene Soraia has announced that her debut album 'Moonchild' is released on Monday November 21st.
The album was originally scheduled for release in February, but following the chart success of 'Wherever You Will Go', the song she sang for the Twinings advert, it's been brought forward to next Monday. She is to play a sold out show at London's Bush Hall on the same day to celebrate the release, which will be her biggest headline gig to date and precedes an almost completely sold out tour in February of intimate venues around the country.
Many people will initially think that this is over-night success for Charlene Soraia, but she has actually been honing her craft since the age of 5, when she first picked up her Father's guitar and plucked at the strings until they snapped. By the age of 8, she was writing songs and playing in front of audiences and continued to do so throughout her teens.
Her beautiful vocal style and mastery of the guitar earned her a scholarship to attend the BRIT School and Charlene can count many chart success stories in her class mates, such as Adele and Jessie J. She released a couple of EPs that she recorded herself before going into the studio with Paul Stacey to record her debut album.
This experience is one that has shaped her into the artist that she is now. Her debut single, 'When We Were Five', was released last year, and starts off with an absolutely ridiculous high note which you'd expect from the likes of Minnie Ripperton or Mariah Carey and prompted an on-air debate on Guy Garvey's radio show as to exactly what was making this supernatural sound.
