The Prodigy Confirmed As Third Headliner For Download 2012

This evening The Prodigy have been confirmed as the third and final headliner for Download Festival 2012.
The iconic British dance legends will headline the Friday night of Download’s 10th Anniversary weekend, joining Metallica who play on Saturday and the reunited Black Sabbath who play on Sunday. Download's chief band booker Andy Copping revealed:
“We’re very excited to welcome The Prodigy back to Donington, it’s great to have them here for the third time and this time headlining the main stage. The crowds always go mental when The Prodigy are in town. The band never fail to impress, and it’s going to be one hell of a weekend.”
Since the announcement The Prodigy have posted a statement on their official website, stating:
“We have chosen to headline download festival as our only uk festival show next year and will be playing some new songs for the first time from our next album due later 2012 ........ see you there Liam, Keef & Maxim”

Download 2012 Tickets go on general sale from 9am on Friday 18th November.
Weekend ticket prices will remain the same as the prices for Download 2011 until midday Monday 30th January 2012 when all ticket types will go off sale. All tickets will go back on sale at 5pm Monday 30th January 2012 with Weekend tickets increased to 2012 prices. Fans should take advantage of this offer while it lasts!
