Smashing Pumpkins Frontman Starts Wrestling Company

Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan has started his own indie wrestling company called ‘Resistance Pro’, it has been revealed.

The new club has its first proper event tonight in Chicago’s Excalibur Club, although owner Corgan will miss it as he is currently in Europe on tour. Corgan is apparently a big fan of wrestling and is enjoying the prospect of building his company bigger and bigger, hoping it’ll eventually be a world-famous brand.

“We have to start in Chicago and build a name for ourselves and build enough of a reputation to take it other places,” Corgan revealed. “It's a serious endeavour. I want this to succeed strictly on its ideas. If I had to artificially prime the audience because of my musical life that's sad. This is going to succeed on its own ideas, not because I jumped the shark.”

Their debut show, which is billed as ‘Black Friday’, will go ahead tonight and will also include an announcement of a second show.
