Isle Of Wight Set For All-American Headliners?

After already securing the services of Bruce Springsteen, Isle of Wight Festival organiser has teased festival-goers by revealing that he’s pursuing two more iconic US performers to headline the remaining two days of the festival.

John Giddings, the man behind the annual event, even went as far as to say that the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Aerosmith would be his ultimate festival headliners – but then admitted that they were out of contention to play at next year’s event. He also went on to mention that there would be a lot more modern style music at the festival, like dance and electronic genres.

Speaking of the potentially-performing yanks, Giddings said: “Well I've made offers to them, so let's not tempt fate, but I'm aiming for the 'American Trilogy'. What that means is that in the 'Big Top' I'm going to have more dance and urban acts than I've ever had before.”

Giddings then went on to explain to fans that next year’s festival was moved to late June to avoid clashing with half-term – which would have meant chaos for the Ferry services.

“We'll move to our normal weekend next time, it was just for one year only because the ferry companies told me they couldn't handle the traffic. Half term has moved back by a week next year, but it won't be there the year after next.”
