Mitch Winehouse Declares 'We'd Never Allow' Amy Biopic

Mitch Winehouse, father of late soul-singing superstar Amy Winehouse, has spoken out to declare that he will not allow any kind of biopic to be made about his daughter’s life.

Mitch, whose been working hard releasing Amy’s previously unheard tracks, duets and videos to raise money for the Amy Winehouse foundation, will block film makers and directors from making the film by denying them access to any of her material.

“It would hardly be a biopic without the music, and we'd never allow the songs to be released,” Mitch told the Daily Mail. He went on to talk about the book deal that has been penned with publisher HarperCollins, admitting that there may be some negative criticism surrounding the book, but saying: “Let me remind you. All profits to the foundation. Do you know how many kids will benefit form that money?”

The declaration was most likely a response to Amy’s ex-boyfriend Reg Traviss’ claims that he was asked to direct a potential biopic. Traviss told the Mirror: “I have been asked but I honestly don't think I could do it. I'd be too close to it. But whoever does write and direct the film may exaggerate certain points to make it more 'Hollywood.' The family would want to be involved to make sure that its done justice. But right now it's all too raw.”
