80's Rock Giants Survivor Reunite With Former Frontman Jimi Jamison - New Album Album Set For 2012

80's rock giants Survivor are feeling the Christmas Spirit following the success of their new festive track 'Christmas Is Here' on the Mediabase Christmas charts. The track currently stands at Number Six on the chart.

That’s not the only good news for Survivor though. The Chicago-based band are still celebrating the recent reunion with their former frontman Jimi Jamison (pictured). Jimi fronted the band and sang vocals on some of Survivor's best-known hits from the 1980s, including ‘High On You’ and ‘The Search Is Over.’

Jimi Jamison has reunited with Survivor after departing the band five years ago to pursue a solo career. He will now lead the group in creating a brand new album, aiming for a release sometime next year. The new album will be Survivor first offering of new material since 2006's 'Reach'.

Speaking about the reunion, founding member and band guitarist Frankie Sullivan commented: “I’m excited to have Jimi back up front singing the hits, and giving the fans what they want.”

Jamison revealed: “It feels great to be back with Frankie and the band, singing the songs that the fans love.”

You may be familiar with Survivor's Grammy Award winning signature track ‘Eye Of The Tiger,’ which recently topped 2.5 million downloads worldwide.
