Sex Pistols 7inch Up For Sale At £10,000

Thursday, 15 December 2011 Written by Elliott Batte

A copy of legendary punk icons the Sex Pistols’ 1977 classic ‘God Save the Queen’ is being put up for sale at a staggering price of £10,000.

The un-played 7inch is on sale at music store 991.com, and is currently sitting in my basket at the price £10,002.96 (not too bad for shipping nowadays). It’s okay though Sex Pistols fans, I won’t be really forking out the cash!

According to the store, they received the record from an “ex-industry source with impeccable credentials.” They went onto described the record as “Not only one of the rarest records in existence but is certainly the most sought after and no serious record collection is complete without it.”

Remarkably, it became one of the rarest records in existence as A&M Records, one of the band’s old labels, destroyed all of their other copies when they decided to drop them just six days after they had signed, because of a streak of brazen behaviour and fighting.
