Yeah Yeah Yeahs To Headline Jonathan Toubin Benefit Gig

American indie rockers Yeah Yeah Yeahs will perform at a benefit gig for hospitalised DJ Jonathan Toubin, who runs the New York Night Train parties, alongside TV on the Radio’s Tunde Adebimpe and a handful of other guests tonight.

Toubin is in a critical condition after he was involved in a one-in-a-million accident after a taxi cab flew out of control and smashed into his hotel room, prompting friends and fellow musicians and DJs to organiser a benefit show at New York’s Brooklyn Bowl to help pay for hospital bills.

Karen O and co. will headline the show, while Adebpimpe’s side project Stabbing Eastward will follow. Also on the bill are Heavy Trash, the side project of Blues Explosion frontman Jon Spencer, and Bear in Heaven, as well as a DJ set from Butthole Surfers’ Gibby Haynes.

The Yeah Yeah Yeahs frontwoman Karen O have been working on new material, according to recent reports. Stay with Stereoboard for future updates on the band.
