Cardiff’s Toy Horses Announce UK Tour Dates in March

Friday, 16 December 2011 Written by Rob Sleigh

Cardiff-based indie duo Toy Horses have announced details of a UK tour for March 2012, including a date at London’s 100 Club. Earlier this year, the band released their eponymous debut album, which was produced by Wilco’s Ken Coomer and featured Counting Crows drummer Jim Bogios. See below for all Toy Horses tour dates.

In May, Stephen Fry tweeted his approval for Toy Horses after the band name-checked him in their song ‘What About the Future’. The lyric in question said: “We will both like Stephen Fry/He’s such a clever fucking guy.” In response, Fry wrote: “And my new favourite indie band must be Toy Horses, and not just because of the lyrics of ‘What About the Future’.”

Toy Horses also received a great deal of support on BBC Radio 2 from the likes of Jonathan Ross, Dermot O’Leary and Bob Harris following the release of their single ‘Interrupt’ – watch the video below.

Toy Horses received some early attention from US radio DJ Nic Harcourt, who has previously been credited with helping to launch Coldplay’s career and invited Toy Horses to perform at his SXSW showcase.

The band are currently writing songs for their second album, as well as for upcoming Jason Derulo, Drake and Sean Kingston albums.
