BRIT Awards Go Fully Digital

For the first time ever, this year’s BRIT Awards with MasterCard will be fully digital allowing audiences at home to enjoy a truly interactive BRITs experience.

In anticipation of this year’s event, due to be held on February 21st at The O2 Arena, the BRITs’ have made a number of changes to their digital strategy which started with the launch of their brand new website www.brits.co.uk. Fans can watch exclusive online video content from backstage and the red carpet on the night of the Nominations Launch via the website as well as on Facebook, YouTube and photo sharing service Instagram.

The BRITs new digital strategy will run alongside the exclusive main live broadcast on ITV1 as well as ITV’s extra coverage including ITV2’s Red Carpet one hour show, one hour post BRITs show and exclusive extras on www.itv.com and their catch-up services.

Up and coming TV presenter Phil Clifton has been given the job as the official BRIT website presenter.

The official Facebook and Twitter feeds are already up-and-running, giving fans an insight into preparations and allowing them to discuss performances, nominees and gossip as we build up to the event. As the nominations will not be broadcast, the official @BRIT_Awards Twitter feed will be the first place to go to get live, rolling news of the Nominations Launch, with fans discussing the nominations as they happen using the hashtag  #britawards.

The BRITs will also be running a competition on Twitter to find two bloggers to come and live blog from the awards. Entrants need to tweet why they should be chosen to blog at The BRITs in 140 characters or less and use the hashtag #britsblogger. Top entrants will then be contacted with more information.
