The Dunwells Pay Tribute to Steve Jobs in New Video – Watch Now

Saturday, 21 January 2012 Written by Rob Sleigh

Leeds-based indie quintet The Dunwells have paid homage to late Apple co-founder Steve Jobs, as well as a number of other influential figures, in the video for their new single ‘I Could Be A King’. The likes of Gandhi, Albert Einstein, Martin Luther King and Winston Churchill are also recognised in the video, which is entirely made up of video clips featuring memorable events from history, sport, comedy and music, including Woodstock and Live Aid. The single ‘I Could Be A King’ is due for release on 13th February and is the first to be taken from The Dunwells’ forthcoming debut album ‘Blind Sighted Faith’ – due out on 5th March.

Speaking about the new video, the band’s frontman Joseph Dunwell said: “On a trip from London, we were talking about protests in and around England and the US and how the common working man seems to be really struggling. That led us to a montage concept for ‘I Could Be A King’, wanting to magnify how a simple idea can generate a massive change and how one steadfast person can inspire the world. An everyday person can be heroic.”

The new album ‘Blind Sighted Faith’ was recorded in Austin, Texas with producer John Porter, who has previously worked with the likes of Elvis Costello, Ryan Adams and The Smiths.
