Pepe Deluxe to Release New Album ‘Queen of the Wave’ This Week

Finnish duo Pepe Deluxe recently announced the release of their new album ‘Queen of the Wave’, which is due out on Monday 30th January. It is the pair’s first in five years following 2007’s ‘Spare Time Machine’. Watch the video for the single ‘A Night and A Day’ below.
‘Queen of the Wave’, Pepe Deluxe’s fourth album to date, is a concept album based around the 19th Century novel ‘A Dweller on Two Planets’ by Frederick S. Oliver. It features collaborations with Finnish heavy metal drummer Kai Hahto and the Czech Film Orchestra among others. Pepe Deluxe are to donate profits from sales of the album to the John Nurminen Foundation to be used in the Clean Baltic Sea project.
Pepe Deluxe are possibly best-known for their 2001 hit single ‘Before You Leave’, which was used in an advertising campaign for Levi’s during the same year. The track has since been used as the theme tune to the Channel 4 quiz show ‘Alan Carr’s Celebrity Ding Dong’.
