George Michael: 'September Seems Most Likely' For Rescheduled Tour Dates

Superstar singer George Michael has reassured fans that he will be rescheduling his cancelled 2011 shows, talking about the gigs for the first time since he left hospital after suffering from pneumonia.

The ex-Wham! star has revealed through Twitter that the shows will all be rescheduled, but fans will most-likely have to wait until September and autumn months for his vocal cords to fully recover.

Writing through his official Twitter account, Michael first re-tweeted a fans message about ‘what was happening with the new dates’, before replying: “Realistically I can't see my vocal cords being being ready till the summer, but then I have to think about people losing out if they are on their summer hols. So September seems the most likely. Sorry about that everyone. Rest assured I will use the time wisely – as in working on improving the show, mixing the live tracks, finishing brand new tracks!”

He then went on to write: “Pneumonia may have been a bastard thing to go thru, but normally when I suffer you guys benefit somehow, don't you think :) That's just how it goes in GM world. God's little joke. Long may it continue :)” – before jokingly posting: “Spent half the day trying to come up with something that rhymed with pneumonia. Best I can do is bone ya... Speaking of which, I just thrashed Fadi... at pool.”

Michael was forced to postpone two shows in Cardiff and a concert in London in November after coming down with a serious bout of pneumonia, which left him hospitalised in Austria for a number of weeks. He incidentally also cancelled a show in London in October after he was diagnosed with having a viral infection. All of these shows will be rearranged for autumn it seems.
