Whitney Houston Dead At 48 According To Publicist

Legendary soul and pop singer Whitney Houston has died at age 48, according to her publicist Kristen Foster.

The news comes on the eve of the 54th Grammy Award ceremony. No official statement has surfaced as of yet, so the cause of death is unknown and has only been confirmed by Foster so far – though the story has become the biggest trend on Twitter worldwide. The location of the star’s death is also unknown.

Hundreds of superstars and celebrities have tweeted messages after the news broke, including Canadian pop sensation Justin Bieber, who wrote “Just heard the news. so crazy. One of the GREATEST VOICES EVER just passed. RIP Whitney Houston. My prayers go out to her friends and family.”

Katy Perry also left a message, saying “So devastating. We will always love you Whitney, R.I.P,” while Nicki Minaj posted “Jesus Christ, not Whiteney Houston. Greatest of all time.”

Reportedly, the singer was seen looking under the weather at a pre-Grammys party in Hollywood ahead of the ceremony tomorrow, while it’s not a secret that Houston has suffered from drug addictions and money problems in the past.

Houston was an international superstar who grafted a career in acting as well as singing, staring in hit film The Bodyguard and becoming one of the biggest selling artists of all time. But, after her wild behaviour and drug use helped Houston’s voice slip away, her career began sliding down hill – telling an ABC host “the biggest devil is me. I'm either my best friend or my worst enemy” in an interview in 2002.
