Iconic British rockers The Rolling Stones have been subject to yet another rumour that they’ll be reforming at some point this year – with guitarist Ronnie Wood dropping the biggest hint yet that a tour of the world could be in their schedule.
2012 is the band’s 50th anniversary since their first ever gig together all back in 1962, and fans have been going wild over the internet with constant speculation about whether Jagger and co. will put on any more shows to celebrate the milestone.
Just earlier this month the band denied rumours that they’d be performing at any kind of Olympic concert, but it has previously been revealed that the group had met up for rehearsals back in December of last year. So fans will be interested to know that Wood is staying open to the idea of touring – and told the Radio Times that it sounded ‘lovely’.
“Be lovely, wouldn't it?” Wood told the magazine. “That's what we're on the verge of. I dunno what the hell is gonna happen yet but we all feel we owe it to ourselves and to the people to do something. Well, they're still in the talking mode.
“And I don't know, each week brings a new development. Basically, get the boys feeling comfortable with each other, 'cause we're all ready to go individually. It's just a matter of tying up loose ends and coming together as a unit.”
