Nicki Minaj, Nero, Tulisa, Pitbull, Cher Lloyd & More Added To Wireless Festival 2012 Line-Up

London's Wireless Festival has this morning announces that US megastar Nicki Minaj is one of the latest acts confirmed to play the festival on Saturday 7th July. Nero, Tulisa, Knife Party and Dbanj also join the Saturday bill which is headlined by Drake, whilst Pitbull, Cher Lloyd, Madeon, A$AP Rocky and Stooshe have been added to the line up on Sunday 8th July, headlined by Rihanna. Jessie J, Calvin Harris, J.ColeExample, Wiz Khalifa, Professor Green and Rizzle Kicks, are amongst the other acts that are already confirmed on the weekend’s line-up.

Nicki Minaj has put the female rap artist back on the map. Bursting onto the scene in 2010 with her debut album ‘Pink Friday’, the Trinidad-born, New York-raised superstar has gone on to become the first female solo artist ever to have seven singles on the Billboard Hot 100 at the same time. Boasting countless awards, she’s also collaborated with an enviable line-up of talent including Kanye West, Madonna, and Wireless Festival headliner Rihanna.

Also performing on Saturday 7th July is London DJ duo Nero, their debut album ‘Welcome Reality’ debuted at number 1 in the UK album chart.  Fresh from the release of her debut solo album, the nation’s new sweetheart Tulisa will play Wireless Festival for the first time since she hit the Hyde Park stage with N-Dubz in 2009. Aussie DJ duo Knife Party, founded by Pendulum’s Rob Swire and Gareth McGrillen, along with London-based Nigerian popstar D’banj have also added their names to Saturday’s line-up.

A plethora of acts bursting with talent join the line up on Sunday 8th July which is headlined by Rihanna. Cuban/American rapper Pitbull will hit Wireless Festival for the first time with a party set full of hits.  His massive anthem ‘I Know You Want Me (Calle Ocho)’ gave him his first UK Top Ten hit while last year’s ‘Give Me Everything’ topped the UK charts. With her genre-baiting, tempo-twisting style, pop sensation Cher Lloyd has become a formidable force on the UK pop scene, first single ‘Swagger Jagger’ from debut album ‘Sticks and Stones’ entered at number one on the UK Singles Chart, brand new single 'Want U Back' is out this week.  17-year-old French producer Madeon, hotly tipped Harlem rapper A$AP Rocky and South East London girl trio StooShe also join the Sunday bill.
