The Wanted Ignore Label's Request To Give Up Alcohol & Coffee For US Tour

British and Irish boyband The Wanted have revealed how they were asked by their US label to give up alcohol, caffeine and dairy products for their tour – and how they refused and got steaming anyway.
The Wanted have made a big impact across the states and their track ‘Glad You Came’ managed to make US chart history last week, becoming the first single by a UK-based boyband to enter the top 3. So on their US tour, label managers wanted to make sure the boys stayed intact – and tried to stop the lads having a few bevies on the trip. But, as young British males always have done, the boys got drunk – and ate some cheese and coffee too.
“The first gig we were playing in the States, we were told by the record company that we were not allowed to drink alcohol, consume caffeine or eat cheese or dairy,” Jay McGuiness told the Daily Record. “So we ordered a crate of beer, five four-cheese pizzas and lots of cups of coffee in our dressing room. As much as people can give us advice, they can't shoehorn us into doing things. In the end, [the label managers] got our humour. It took a while and a lot of stress and they told us that dealing with us was like trying to herd kittens into a bath.”
