Rapper-singer-songwriter Nicki Minaj has sent out a warning message to hip-hop star and Jay-Z – claiming that she’s after his position as the biggest rap kingpin.
Minaj is starting to make a big name out of herself and is fast becoming one of the biggest hip-hop and pop stars in the world, but she doesn’t want to limit herself to just music – and is looking at dethroning Jay-Z as the world’s most famous musical businessman.
“I never thought about music as just being the end-all, be-all,” Minaj told Allure. I always looked at it like a business, something that I could create an empire out of. So that's why I'm only about to put out my second album and I'm already thinking about this.
“I had a little conversation with Jay-Z at the Victoria's Secret fashion show. He said, 'Congratulations on all your success.' And I was like, 'Yeah, I'm coming for you. I'm coming for your spot, Mr. Mogul'.”
