Elton John Tells Fans New Album Is 'Most Exciting Record For A Long Time'

Pop-rock legend Elton John has promised his fans that his new album, which is set to hit shelves in autumn later this year, is his ‘most exciting record for a long-time’.
The superstar told The Rolling Stone that although he’d not been too enthusiastic when he started work on ‘The Diving Board’, which will be his 31st studio album, he now felt ‘psyched’ about it and confessed that he’s excited to release the record to his fans.
“[The Diving Board is] the most exciting solo record I've done in a long, long time,” he told the site. “It was T Bone's idea to get back with piano, bass and drums. He said, 'Let's start with that.'”
He went on to talk about his decision to return to the studio, saying: “I was due to go back into the studio, but I didn't know whether I wanted to go back in so quickly (after previous album ‘The Union’). [But] it just came flooding out. Quickest record I've ever made. I'm as psyched about it as I was with 'The Union'. As I said with 'The Union', I had to go back to go forward, and it's the same with this record.”
