Damon Albarn Unveils Dr Dee 'Apple Carts' Preview Video - Watch Now

Blur and Gorillaz star Damon Albarn is set to release a brand new solo album this May – and has now unveiled a teaser video showcasing a behind-the-scenes look at the record and one of its tracks in particular; ‘Apple Carts’.
The track is one of the first to be previewed from the album and sees Albarn’s vocals backed by a number of instruments, including a small orchestral section, guitars, and a backing choir. You can check the video out below, or the website for the project here
‘Dr Dee’ is Albarn’s fresh collection of 18 tracks, which features songs and music inspired by the life of John Dee; mathematician, polymath and advisor to Elizabeth I. Described by Albarn as ‘strange pastoral folk’, Dr Dee is a fitting companion to the end of another Elizabethan age and the album combines Albarn's voice with early English choral and instrumentation alongside modern, West African and Renaissance sounds.
Dr Dee was recorded late last year in Albarn’s West London studio and also in Salford with the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra. The album was mixed by Valgeir Sigursson in Reykjavik and will be available on CD, vinyl and as a digital download. Pre-order it here.
