Bloc Party 'Very Happy' To Have Signed New Record Deal

London-based indie-rockers Bloc Party have penned a new record deal which will see them putting out a follow-up to 2008’s ‘Intimacy’ – and they’ve confessed that they couldn’t be happier.

Following their three-album spell on independent label Wichita Recordings, the band will now be putting their releases out through Frenchkiss in North America and Cooperative Music for everywhere else – and they’re looking forward to contributing to their new labels’ already ‘mighty-fine’ collection of music.

“This signing has made Bloc Party very happy because not only do we know and love the people at this label but we know and love this label's output,” frontman Kele Okereke said. “Frenchkiss has released some mighty fine music over the years, music that has gone on to influence this very band. So here's to some more mighty fine music...”

Frenchkiss’ founder Syd Butler is equally as excited at working with the group, and said: “We are thrilled to be working with Bloc Party on this next record. They are in the best spirits and we are lucky to be working with such professionals, friends and ambassadors. Their parents raised them right. We all know they make phenomenal records and we are honoured that the next one will be on Frenchkiss.”

Fans will have to travel internationally to see the band this summer, as they’ve lined-up for slots at festivals like Ibiza Rocks.
