Aerosmith Plan To Release 15th Studio Album This Summer

American rockers Aerosmith have revealed that they’ll be releasing their long-awaited new album this summer.
The currently-untitled new album was first talked about four years ago in 2008, when the band started recording new material – only to stop because of frontman Steven Tyler’s health problems. But, speaking to fans while onstage during their ‘Global Warming’ tour, Tyler revealed that they’d finally got their heads down and had almost completed what will be their 15th studio album - their first since 2004’s ‘Honkin’ on Bobo’ – with the singer adding: ‘Doing a record in four months is unheard of in Aerosmith territory’.
He went on to talk about producer Jack Douglas, who the band have worked with many a time along their 40+ year career, and told the crowd that Douglas had just two more songs to mix down before the album was ready. Drummer Joel Kramer said of Douglas: “Jack is part of the Aerosmith DNA. On the first day of writing at rehearsal, that all came right back.”
The band have recently told press that their album will see their usual classic rock style and a ‘vintage style’ on the new record. Stay with Stereoboard to find out more about the new LP – we’ll let you know when a release date is set.
