Soundgarden Première New Song 'Live To Rise' - Listen Now

Zane Lowe spoke to Soundgarden's Chris Cornell last night on Radio One, before giving the first play of new single 'Live To Rise'. The new single, Soundgarden's first new material in 15 years, will feature in the up-and-coming blockbuster movie 'The Avengers' and on a 14-track compilation of music from and inspired by the film. 'Avengers Assemble' will be released on Monday 23rd April.
Soundgarden, fronted by Chris Cornell, recently teased fans with a 30-second snippet of 'Live To Rise'. Speaking about the forthcoming new album, Soundgarden stated: "We've been hard at work on our new album, which will come out this Fall. When the opportunity arose to write an original song for 'Marvel's The Avengers' film, we thought it could be a cool match. We are excited to release our new song 'Live To Rise,' which is also the only new song in the film. Here's a taste. Loudest of Love."

Soundgarden are to make their anticipated UK return at Donington's Download Festival this Summer. They will also perform a headline set at this Summer's Hard Rock Calling in London's Hyde Park.
