American punk-rockers Green Day have been drafted in to induct Guns N Roses into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland on April 14th.
Axl Rose, Slash and the group will be inducted into the legendary Hall of Fame on April 14th, and will receive the accolade from Billie Joe Armstrong and co, who will deliver a speech about their induction too.
The Hall of Fame chiefs have also revealed who will induct the remaining bands, with the Rolling Stones finding themselves paired up with Chris Rock and the Beastie Boys set to be inducted by Public Enemy's Chuck D.
Freddie King has been partnered with ZZ Top, while Better Midler will do the honors for the late Laura Nyro. Smokey Robinson has been given the task of inducting The Blue Caps, The Comets, The Crickets, whilst Scottish singer-songwriter Donovan will be inducted by John Mellencamp.
Donovan may put on a special performance at the ceremony, and has even been linked to perform with Guns N Roses legends Slash and Matt Sorum. Sorum told VH1: “I might play drums with Donovan because I played with him one time before, and 'Hurdy Gurdy Man' was a song he recorded that John Bonham played drums on and Jimmy Page was the guitar player. I offered Donovan that me and Slash could play that maybe, but I haven’t heard back if he wants us to do it or not.”
