Lady Gaga Causes Twitter Controversy

Eccentric pop superstar Lady Gaga has landed herself in trouble with anti-eating disorder campaigners and music fans after she tweeted about eating a salad rather than a hamburger – with the hashtag ‘#PopSingersDontEat’.
Gaga has been known to campaign against young girls unnecessarily dieting and has often lent a helping hand to those attempting to raise awareness and combat eating disorders such as anorexia and other potentially harmful illnesses.
But last night, the star wrote via her official Twitter account: “Just killed back to back spin classes. Eating a salad dreaming of a cheeseburger #PopSingersDontEat #IWasBornThisWay”
The ‘Telephone’ singer received a mixed response from her huge legion of fans – which includes 22.7million Twitter followers – and sparked a mass of angry replies. Twitter user Becca Riley posted: ‘@ladygaga what the actual fuck? '#PopSingersDontEat' lol. Yeah erm.. Katy does. Demi does. Rihanna Does. What a lesson to teach the kids eh,’ while the National Eating Disorder Association wrote: ‘Huh? This is the same person who recently implored girls to stop dieting?’.
