Jack White To Release Second Solo Album Soon?

Musical genius Jack White has suggested that he may follow-up his debut solo album 'Blunderbuss', which hit shelves just a couple of days ago, in the very near future – as he's still got 12 songs that he 'hasn't finished yet'.

'Blunderbuss' is on course to see White earn his first ever #1 album, but instead of basking in the success, he's looking to the future – and has revealed that another record could be on the way shortly. Speaking to Radio 1's Zane Lowe, White explained that instead of hitting his target number of songs for his first album, he kept writing new tracks, leaving him with 12 songs he's yet to finish – which could potentially form his next solo album.

“We had enough for an album at one point, but I just kept going,” White told Lowe. “I've got another 12 songs that I haven't finished yet. There's songs that White Stripes never really played live, or Raconteurs never really got that into, or songs that I brought to the table in a band - songs like 'Buffalo' - and now I can elaborate on them.”

He went on to tell Lowe about his new live format, which has seen him recruit a separate all-female and all-male band and ditch a planned set-list.

“The easy thing to do would be to go and find four or five guys to play in just like the record and stand behind me. I just didn't want to bore myself to death and bore people with that jazz and it just to just be some nostalgia thing.”

He continued: “If we're going to play a Dead Weather track, a Raconteurs track or a White Stripes song or whatever it is, it needs to be alive in the moment. It has to be something new to everybody on stage, it can't be some recreation of something from years ago. I don't wanna waste my time doing that.”
