Keane Unhappy With Illegal Downloads

Alternative rockers Keane have spoken out about their hatred for illegal music downloading – following the news that their forthcoming new fourth album 'Strangeland' had leaked online prior to its release.

Recent years have seen an incredibly massive influx in illegal downloads, and, after seeing their own new record pop up on internet piracy sites before it had even seen an official release, Keane have had enough – and have told The Daily Star that they think piracy is immoral.

“Illegal downloading is a moral question about the value of music,” Keane frontman Tom Chaplin told the paper. “Bands pour heart, soul, effort and time into making albums. Surely that has a creative as well as monetary value?”

He went on to reassure readers that the band wasn't concerned with how much money they make, saying: “It's not so much a question of money. If you make a great record, people will still go and buy it.”

Chaplin and co. aren't the only people complaining about illegal downloads recently - Trivium's Matt Heafy and Arch Enemy's Angela Gossow have both spoken out about it following the news that Roadrunne Records would be closing international offices and letting staff go.

Keane's new album 'Strangeland' will hit shelves on May 7th, and will kick off their UK tour later in the month. If you're a fan and want to catch the band on the tour, check the dates and details below and grab yourself a pair of tickets.
