Morten Harket: 'End of A-Ha Allows Us To Do Other Things'

Ex-A-ha frontman Morten Harket has revealed that although he is extremely grateful for his time with the pop-rock outfit, their split has allowed him to pursue other musical projects – like his new solo album 'Out of my Hands'.

A-ha announced their split in 2010 after celebrating their 25 years together with a huge world tour and a brand new album, calling an end to their hugely successful career, which was defined by their mega-hit 'Take on Me'. But, rather than look back at his past, Harket has used his newly acquired free time to expand his solo career – and will be releasing his fifth studio album (and his third in English language) on May 14th.

Speaking to The BBC, Harket said: “A-ha disbanded in 2010, we had a big world tour celebrating 25 years together, so that was big year for us. The year before we had a big album, we were doing very well. We knew that with all three of us being in good health, if we were going to do other things in our lives, then this would be the time to do it. We had 25 years to be grateful for and chose to step down.”

The singer-songwriter will perform two rare UK shows later this month, in London on Sunday 13th and Birmingham on Monday 14th. If you need tickets to either of the shows, check the dates and details below.

Morten Harket UK & Ireland Tour Dates are as follows:
