The on-going controversy involving hip-hop star Chris Brown and Barbados-born beauty Rihanna has taken another turn this week, after Brown was accused of insulting the star in a brand new freestyle – something which he has denied via Twitter.
The new track features as a remix of Kanye West's 'Theraflu' (which has now been retitled 'Cold'), and seemingly sees Brown bad-mouthing an ex-girlfriend – which, unsurprisingly, has been interpreted as being Rihanna – in the lyrics.
On the track, Brown raps: “Don't fuck with my old bitch it's like a bad fur/ Every industry n*gga done had her/ Shook the tree like a pumpkin just to smash her/ Bitch is breaking codes, but I'm the password.”
As soon as the freestyle surfaced, loads fans and listeners worldwide began tweeting and commenting about the lyrics and their apparently offensive intent – despite the Brown and Rihanna recently teaming up for two tracks; 'Birthday Cake' and 'Turn Up The Music'.
But, Brown has quickly responded to the claims, and wrote over Twitter: “Assumptions! I didn't say any names so if u took offense to it then its something you feel guilty about [sic].”
Why don't you give us your own interpretation of the lyrics? Check out the freestyle embedded below and let us know what you think in the comment section below.
