Digital Projection Of Freddie Mercury To Appear At 'We Will Rock You' 10th Anniversary Production

Iconic rockers Queen will apparently be using some kind of optical illusion to bring legendary frontman Freddie Mercury back to life for the 10th Anniversary of 'We Will Rock You' – though they've stressed that they won't be using the same holographic projection as Dr Dre and Snoop Dogg's hologram Tupac performance at Coachella Festival earlier this year.
The band will be celebrating the 10th anniversary of their now-famous 'We Will Rock You' production at the Dominion Theatre in London on May 14th, and will see their frontman and friend Freddie Mercury, who died in 1991, digitally projected on stage – something which Brian May reckons will leave fans asking 'did we actually see Freddie?'.
May confirmed the news earlier today, despite his band mate Roger Taylor's recent comments which saw the drummer telling press that he 'didn't want to appear with a hologram of my dear friend - it’s the real one or no hologram for me.'
May told The BBC: “It’s a little unfortunate they did that thing with Tupac as we’ve been trying to make Freddie appear on the stage for quite a while. [The Tupac Hologram technique] is something we’ve looked at ourselves, but I think probably for a show that runs eight shows a week, it’s not really quite practical.”
He added: “People will come out saying, ‘Did we actually see Freddie?'”
