Lawson Announce Release Of Second Single 'Taking Over Me' - Listen Now

Today guitar-pop outfit Lawson announce the July 24th release of their second single 'Taking Over Me'. The track premièred on In:Demand last night and may sound familiar if you've already seen the guys on tour.

‘Taking Over Me’ follows Lawson's debut single ‘When She Was Mine’, which stormed to Number 4 in the charts in May. Put together by songwriter and frontman Andy Brown with Joel Peat on guitar, Adam Pitts on drums and Ryan Fletcher on bass, 'Taking Over Me' is a summer smash in the waiting that takes you back to being young and hopelessly romantic. Lawson's huge following are already excited about the band's new offering before it's even been released!

Andy has this to say about the new track: "'Taking Over Me' was one of the last songs we wrote for the album and it came out of a jamming session I was having one day in LA with our producer John Shanks. It's an uplifting song about those first moments of a relationship and it's a song which I hope will go down great at all of the festivals we are set to play over the Summer.

The vast majority of the songs on the album are about heartbreak, and which I wrote after my relationship ended but I felt it was important that we had a song on there about the good times as well as the sad. Taking Over Me is that song."

In what looks to be the distinct absence of any sunshine this year ‘Taking Over Me’ is set to be the scorcher for the summer coinciding with some great festival and live shows Lawson are playing in the coming months; including T4 On The Beach, Hard Rock Calling and T In The Park.
