This is the first time since Oasis in 2009 that concerts of this size have taken place on the park. To ensure the three day event is safe, successful and enjoyable for everyone from concert-goers to the local community there will be arrangements such as Park and Ride facilities near Heaton Park and shuttle buses to and from the city centre as well as stewarding and policing around the arena. In addition, an official twitter account @livegigsandtour has also been set up for ticket holders to get all the latest travel, event information and announcements, working with Greater Manchester Police, GMPTE and Manchester City Council.

The following event guidelines will also be in place to make the shows as enjoyable and safe as possible:

Important information for local residents...

A contracted cleaning company will be on hand to clean up after every concert.

For residents surrounding Heaton Park, there will be an active community information line leading up to and during the concerts. This will inform householders who have any concerns or queries.

Due to the site being in a residential area and for the safety of all visitors to the park, all public parking will be suspended on the days that the concerts will take place. Leisure services would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Important information for ticket holders...

The venue will be open from approximately 2pm. The first act on stage is scheduled for approximately 4.30pm and the curfew for the events is set for 11pm each night.

There is no cover for the audience, so it is advised to take appropriate clothing for the expected weather conditions. The park is used by families and we would therefore ask that ticket holders do not take their own alcohol into the park and glass is not permitted in the park for this event.

Please be aware that there is a Designated Public Places Order around Heaton Park which prevents any person from drinking alcohol from open vessels. There will be a large police presence on all three days actively enforcing the Designated Public Places Order to ensure there is no on street drinking. Please be advised to drink responsibly and not try to enter the concert in an intoxicated state as you run the risk of being refused entry if you are deemed unfit through either drink or drugs.

Greater Manchester Police have also warned that searches will take place on all patrons before they enter.

Street traders and counterfeit goods - People attending the concerts are being advised to buy merchandise from official stands within the park, rather than from traders on surrounding streets. Manchester City Council trading standards officers will be on the look-out for traders selling counterfeit goods, which are often of poor quality and do not come with any guarantee.

Travel Information...

PARKING
There will be no parking for the public within the park. If driving to the event you will be directed to the park and ride service at Bowlee. Directional signage will be present on all routes.

Disabled Parking: Disabled visitors who do not have an advanced parking ticket have a number of spaces available at the VIP/Coach parking area in the Lakeside car park. These visitors are advised to bring along their disabled parking permit (Blue Badge) and have it on display on entering the car parks.

CITY CENTRE SHUTTLE BUS
A shuttle bus service will be in operation between Heaton Park and the City Centre. Return tickets can be purchased in the city centre on the day and in advance using the link below. There will also be a ticket outlet within the park for single journeys back to the city centre.

You can purchase return city centre shuttle bus tickets here.

Tram stations Heaton Park and Bowker Vale will be in use during arrival to the event.

Please note - Heaton Park station will be closed when the event finishes.. Besses O'Th Barn, Prestwich and Bowker Vale stations will be open for travel after the event.

You can view the tram route map by clicking here.

DROP OFF AND PICK UP
A specific area off Sheepfoot Lane has been designated a pick up and drop off.

WALKING
Heaton Park is approximately 3 miles to Victoria Station in the city centre so it is advised that fans should plan ahead and the quickest option to make their journey home is to walk back into the city centre. This is due to the fact there is expected to be significant traffic build up around the park once the concert has ended.

TAXIS
People planning to go home by taxi are advised to use a temporary marshalled rank set up on the junction of Victoria Avenue and Middleton Road.

Anyone getting hackney cabs back from the venue should expect to pay an average fare of around £20, including waiting time, into the city centre. Private hire journeys are not insured unless they've been booked through an operator, and Manchester City Council licensing officers will be patrolling streets surrounding the park looking for private hire cars illegally stopping to pick up passengers from the street.

Anyone who thinks they've been charged too much for a return taxi journey can contact the City Council's licensing unit on 0161 234 5004 with the vehicle's registration number.
