Blur's Alex James Has 'No Idea' What Happens Next With The Band

Blur star Alex James has confessed that he has ‘no idea’ what direction the band will be taking next, after debuting their two brand new singles ‘The Puritan’ and ‘Under the Westway’.

The iconic Britpop outfit made their return in 2009 after a six year hiatus, and, after playing a number of shows across the UK (most famously their Blur in Hyde Park gig and their slot headlining Glastonbury the same year), began recording new material.

Now they’re here, with two new tunes and a gig closing the London 2012 Olympics, as well as a short UK tour. But, after this summer’s all done and dusted, where will that leave Blur? Bassist Alex James isn’t particularly sure...

“I've got no idea what happens next, or if it ever happens again,” James told Steve Lamacq. “There's never been a period where more than six months have gone by and [we haven’t] stuck our heads in and had a bish-bash... It's just really, really good fun. We click back into it like a family at Christmas. We're not having fist fights any more, but I sort of miss that!”

Fans of the band really have to get to one of their summertime gigs, because - as James said - this could be one of your last chances to ever see the band again. If you need tickets, check the dates and details below.

Blur UK & Ireland Tour Dates are as follows:
