Baddies Announce Split

Essex-based four-piece Baddies announced their split last night, following the release of their second album ‘Build’ earlier this year.

Announcing the news via their Facebook page, the band explained: “It is with heavy heart and a lump in our collective throat that we announce Baddies are splitting up. We're all still great friends / family but it has become an ongoing struggle thats too difficult to continue with. Thankyou and goodnight.”

Baddies burst onto the scene at the tail end of 2008, with their debut single 'Battleships' selling out on its week of release. With support from Huw Stephens and Zane Lowe at Radio 1, the band went on to pick up massive press support, with NME, Clash, Q Magazine, Rocksound, Kerrang!, BBC Online, This Is Fake DIY and a whole lot more picking them as ones to watch in 2009 and beyond.

2009 saw them release their debut album, and with that, the boys travelled forward, and things started to look pretty promising. Having supported the likes of The Joy Formidable, Pulled Apart By Horses, Everything Everything, and Reuben, the band toured Japan and Australia, relentlessly gigged in Europe, and played a whopping 35 festivals in the summer of 2009 alone. 2012 saw the release of their second album - but, it was not meant to be, and like all good things, Baddies have now come to an end.
