English singer-songwriter Paul Weller, a.k.a the Modfather, has revealed that Blur star Damon Albarn tops his list of people he’d like to work with at the moment.
The 54 year-old star, famous for his time in punk-rock outfit The Jam as well as his current solo career, isn’t a fan of much of the music we see around nowadays - but is certainly an admirer of Blur and Gorillaz man Damon Albarn, and his Dr. Dee musical/opera in particular.
Speaking to The Daily Star, Weller confessed: “I'm still going out and buying records, but nothing's blown me away – although I thought 'Dr Dee' was fantastic. I'd love to work with Damon. I'm up for working with anyone if they've got something creative going on.”
Weller then went on to give his opinion on music festivals - and why he is reluctant to perform at them.
“I don't do many festivals if I can help it - the weather is always terrible. Latitude was an exception because it was more interesting – TV cameras everywhere, flags waving and all that shite.”
