The Stone Roses To Release New Album In 2013?

Recently-reformed rockers The Stone Roses will release a brand new studio album in 2013, if tabloid reports are to be believed.

The Mancunian outfit, fronted by Ian Brown, announced that they’d reform for a handful of UK shows and a world tour in 2011, and still haven’t finished completing the dates - which have already earned the band millions upon millions of pounds.

Now, it seems like they may be extending their comeback with a brand new album - and maybe even a secret gig later this week. The news wouldn’t be too surprising, as the band signed a two album deal upon their return - but fans will be extremely happy if a new record hits shelves by 2013.

Speaking to The Sun, a source revealed: “John [Squire] and Ian [Brown] have been sending each other ideas for over a year now. During rehearsals they have tried some new songs and really felt that the old magic was still there with the songwriting. They have decided they will give it another spin with new music next year.”

It’s then claimed that the band will be playing a secret Olympic gig for Adidas this week too, but the details of the gig haven’t been disclosed.

If you’re a fan, you can catch the band at this year’s V Festival, as well as at Belfast’s Tennent’s Vital and Oyafestivalen. For tickets, check the link below.
