Fresh out of Denver, The Lumineer have been subject of a fierce bidding war following their breakout success in the US. Last week it was announced that Decca Records has licensed the forthcoming debut album from the independent Nashville-based label Dualtone.
The Lumineers have become a huge success story in the US, having sold over 150,000 copies of their debut album and 430,000 single downloads in less than four months through Dualtone.
A trio comprising of Brooklyn-to-Denver transplants Wesley Schultz, Jeremiah Fraites and Neyla Pekarek, The Lumineers are currently at Number 1 on AAA radio in the US. The band’s success has come through touring and word of mouth while interest from international labels was triggered after a breath-taking performance at this year’s SXSW festival.
With a spine-tingling, emotive sound that is both classic and genuine, The Lumineers use flavours of folk, alternative rock, Americana and indie to create rustic and spell-binding music. The bands video for their UK debut single ‘Ho Hey’ has already claimed a phenomenal 3 million YouTube views to accompany its 380,000 single downloads. Following a string of sold-out US tour dates the band will bring their critically acclaimed live show over to the UK this autumn where they will support fellow Nashville, Grammy Award winning duo, The Civil Wars.
