Birdy Performs At Opening Ceremony Of The London 2012 Paralympic Games

Last night, Wednesday 29th August, British singer/songwriter Birdy (AKA Jasmine Van den Bogaerde) performed at the Opening Ceremony for the London 2012 Paralympic Games. She performed ‘Bird Gerhl’, originally by Antony and the Johnsons.

Birdy will be playing a sold out headline show at The O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire on Tuesday September 11th. She also features on the soundtrack to the Disney Pixar film, Brave. The original track ‘Learn Me Right’ features during the film’s epilogue and is performed by Birdy with Mumford & Sons, who also wrote, arranged and produced the track.

Birdy’s self-titled debut album has now sold over 108,000 copies in the UK and is certified as platinum in France, Holland and Belgium. She has over 83 million lifetime views on her YouTube channel and her video for 'Skinny Love' has now amassed over 30 million views to date. She’s also performed across the globe on major TV shows such as Ellen in the US and the final of The Voice in Holland. She also wrote a song for the Hunger Games Movie entitled 'Just a Game', which features on the film soundtrack.
