The Rolling Stones Set To Earn £4 Million Each For Rumoured Winter Shows

Friday, 31 August 2012 Written by Jon Stickler

Veteran rockers the Rolling Stones, who are rumoured to announce their return to the live stage next week, look set to pocket £4million each for the four shows believed to take place in London and New York this November and December.

Stereoboard reported earlier this week that the Stones are heavily-tipped to play four shows this November and December, two in London and two in Brooklyn, New York. The special concerts look set to be promoted by Sir Richard Branson, who outbid Live Nation, Michael Cohl and AEG Live (three of the world's biggest live event promoters) to use the events to launch his VirginLive.

So how much does it cost to bring one of the world's biggest bands back to the stage? It's believed Branson will be paying out a total of £16 million for the anticipated four shows - giving Mick, Keith, Ronnie and Charlie a whopping £4 million each!

Due to the high cost, ticket prices look set to be sky high. Fans can expect to pay around £200 - £500 face value for a standard ticket. A source close to the Stones says about the high prices: “It’s a loss leader for VirginLive, because Branson just wants to make a splash in the live field.”

The Rolling Stones are celebrating their 50th anniversary this year, however, fans are still waiting for the band to announce some special celebratory shows. Speculation that the band are to reveal some special concerts to mark the milestone has been brewing for months.

The band's official Facebook page currently states that:
