English indie-rockers The Heartbreaks have unveiled a brand new music video for their cover of Bruce Springsteen’s ‘I’m On Fire’, the B-side to their newly-released single ‘Polly’.
Coinciding with a series of UK dates - alongside their first hometown show of 2012 in Morecambe - ‘Polly’ stands as testament to the not so distant past when, before the age of social networking, it was easy to lose contact with someone so very close to you, as life got in the way. Not only is it certain to be one of this summer’s ubiquitous festival anthems, it is also an extraordinary piece of bittersweet, heartache pop, and acts as the second single from the band’s critically acclaimed debut album ‘Funtimes’.
‘Funtimes’ saw the band build on the buzz of early releases to deliver an album that had Dazed declaring ‘every song is capable of being a single’ and Louderthanwar acclaiming ‘a chiming, shimmering pop gem.’ The band kept up the unique connection they have with their dedicated fanbase with a series of impromptu gigs for Record Store Day that saw them stop the traffic in Berwick St and a monthly ‘Funtimes’ club night in Hoxton that played the music that means so much to the band. To cap it all, single ‘Delay, Delay’ topped a Fly magazine poll for the single of the year so far.
This week they’ve treated fans, and offered them a brand new single and a brand new video on the same day - you can check the clip below.
