Amy Winehouse's Former Boyfriend Reg Traviss Pleads Not Guilty To Rape Charges

The former boyfriend of late soul singer Amy Winehouse has furiously denied accusations that he raped someone on December 31st, pleading not guilty in court yesterday.

Reg Traviss - who was with Winehouse at the time of her death in summer 2011 - has been hit with the allegations following a night out on New Years Eve, and appeared in court yesterday to plead not guilty to the claims.

The lawsuit, filed by a woman who claims that she was out drinking on the night before waking up with Traviss, will be settled with a three day trial starting on December 10th, while he will remain on bail until the case is settled.

Commenting on the case, Rebecca Mundy - speaking for the CPS London Rape and Serious Sexual Offences Unit - said: “I have authorised the Metropolitan police to charge Reginald Traviss with two counts of rape. The alleged offences took place between 29 December 2011 and 1 January 2012. The decision was taken in accordance with the code for crown prosecutors.”
