Thin Lizzy To Record First Album For 30 Years

Irish rockers Thin Lizzy have confirmed that they will be recording their first album for 30 years - and their first without founding member and original frontman Phil Lynott - next month, following their revival in 2004.

The announcement is big news for fans, who haven’t been subject to any new Thin Lizzy releases since 1991’s ‘Dedication’ - and no new albums since 1983’s ‘Thunder and Lightening’. It comes after a handful of years performing as a tribute to Lynott, who passed away in 1986 with heart failure, and will probably be accompanied by a brand new Thin Lizzy tour - so stay with Stereoboard to stay up-to-date.

Speaking to Rolling Stone, guitarist Scott Gorham said: “I'll be going out to Los Angeles at the end of the month to work on some songs with Damon [Johnson] and then I think we will start recording in October in our producer Kevin Shirley's studio.

“We are all excited about the new record but especially [vocalist] Ricky Warwick and Damon, they just can’t wait to start recording! You have got six guys there that are chomping at the bit that can't wait to get this thing going.”
