Oh Minnows To Release New Single 'Hurry' In Support Of Re-Issue Of Debut Album 'For Shadows'

Following the 2011 digital release of acclaimed debut record, ‘For Shadows’, New York based Oh Minnows return to celebrate the physical release of the LP with the release of new single, ‘Hurry’ on 5th November 2012; again on the renowned Young & Lost Club label.

Forming from the ashes of previous moniker Semifinalists, Chris Steele-Nicholson set to work on spectral pop act Oh Minnows in 2009. Following an EP release in the spring, Chris withdrew for the remainder of the year to record his debut record. It was a process that saw him working in isolation on a journey that took him from a North Carolina beach house, to a frozen warehouse in a cold Chicago winter, and to Fleetwood Mac's dilapidated old studio in San Francisco before returning to the beach house to put the finishing touches to ‘For Shadows’.

It was while visiting London during the release of 'For Shadows' that new single 'Hurry' was recorded with Mark Ralph (Hot Chip, Franz Ferdinand). 'Hurry" continues in a similar vein to where ‘For Shadows’ left off, full of woozy synths, ethereal vocals with an overwhelming and compellingly absorbing, almost cinematic indie-pop sound.

Both ‘Hurry’ along with the re-issue of ‘For Shadows’ will be released via the Young & Lost Club on the 5th November.
