Sales Of The Rolling Stones Tickets To Rake In £4m Each For Rockers

Tuesday, 16 October 2012 Written by Elliott Batte

Following on from yesterday’s revelation that tickets for the massive return of The Rolling Stones could cost up to an incredible £950, it has now been revealed that Mick Jagger and co. could earn up to £4million each from just four gigs.

In what is the most talked-about and hugely-anticipated news of the year, the legendary rockers announced yesterday that they would be performing four concerts - two in the UK, two in the US - to celebrate their 50th anniversary. Now, the true cost of reuniting Charlie Watts, Keith Richards, Ronnie Wood, and Mick Jagger has come to light - and they’ll be receiving a rather hefty amount of dosh.

Tickets for the gigs - which take place in London’s O2 Arena and Newark’s Prudential Center - go onsale this Friday (October 19th) at 9am, and the cheapest tickets you’ll be finding will set you back £90, whilst some of the better ones may set you back up to £375 each. But, if you want to rock out in luxurious style with a VIP package, you’ll have to fork out the best part of a grand (though you’ll receive hospitality seats, a three course meal, and a champagne reception!).

US magazine/website Billboard reckons that the four concerts will earn the band £15.7million - or around £4million each - from ticket sales alone, meaning they could rake in even more from merchandising. And, the band have suggested that the four gigs are just the ‘first bit’ of what could be a massive tour - meaning at the end of it all, the boys could be absolutely rolling in the money.

So why the massive prices? Well, as you can expect, seeing The Rolling Stones is a truly fantastic experience in itself and, if predicted figures are correct, it would mean that based on the two venues being sold out, the promoter would have to make an average of £207 per ticket-holder to cover the band's fee alone.
