Elton John Confirmed As Opening Act At New Leeds Arena & Tickets

Sir Elton John has been confirmed as the opening act at Leeds' brand new arena on Wednesday 4th September 2013, his only UK indoor show in 2013.

The 13,500 person capacity Leeds Arena is set to host 140 concerts and events, ranging from live music to dancing on ice, every year. Described as ‘fan-shaped’, the arena takes over from the Queens Hall (demolished in 1989) as the city’s major venue.

This new show will be the first time in nearly 30 years that Elton and his band have performed in Leeds. Speaking about the new show, Elton comments: "It is difficult to believe that it has taken so long for such a large city to get its own arena, but it has certainly been worth the wait. I am delighted to have been invited to be one of the first artists to perform in what will be a wonderful new venue.

"I recently played to incredible audiences in North Yorkshire, but this will be the first time I have played Leeds with the band since 1984 when I played at the Queens Hall, so I am really looking forward to playing to the city of Leeds once again."
